这次评选的评委来自各个音乐领域,其中有Motown唱片的创始人拜瑞·高迪,重金属乐队的象征奥兹·奥斯本,著名民谣歌手琼尼·米切尔,还有鲍伯·迪伦的儿子——歌手杰克伯。" p! N& @# `- q. O5 J
《滚石》杂志近年来一直忙于各种形式的评选与排名。早在1989年,这份杂志就曾做过一次“过去25年来最佳歌曲”的评选,那次滚石乐队的《(I Cant Get No)Satisfaction》排到了第一位,而第二名正是本次评选的头牌《like a rolling stone》。8 U+ U( o! [6 S5 `0 ]) a' C9 s8 {  n- K
在去年一次“摇滚史上最佳500张专辑”的评选中,披头士的《Sgt.Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band》成为最为重要的一张作品,排到了第一位。% h$ ~0 j& Y+ a& f0 E9 @
另外值得注意的是,本次入选前十名的只有一首来自上世纪90年代的作品(涅盘乐队1991年的《Smells Like Teen Spirit》),剩下的全都来自上世纪60年代。而披头士有22首作品入选,接着是滚石与鲍伯·迪伦。他们分别有13首与12首上榜。% l" v/ G8 i4 u/ L  |# K
