这首乐评写于大约2年前。今天早上去对门实验室看到摆了好几束玲珑剔透的玫瑰花,忽然想起今天是闰七月初七,十九年一遇的第三个情人节,我没有情人,只好唱着单身情歌,跳着孤单芭蕾。确认了这片贴子以前没有在博客上发表以后,也就偷偷懒,并聊以自慰罢。

在美国的乡村音乐中,至少有一首歌是十分特殊的。相信许多中国人一听到曲调就不禁莞尔:因为它带着太多的中国民歌烙印了。日前一位网友发给我的凤飞飞演唱的国语版更加证实了我的猜想。如果说这首歌词是直接从汉语翻译成英语的,那么这首歌也没有介绍的必要,因为翻译的永远赶不上原文。严格说来这个英文歌词完全不是翻译。和中文含蓄规范的歌词比起来。英文的歌词是在Love上做足了文章。讲了一个故事,和中文绝口不提Rose具体的所指大异其趣
' b6 K9 o1 @6 F6 b+ R从字面上看,这首歌也许是作者去东亚采风的结果。Rose是一个马来西亚姑娘,是当地的“一枝花”,人们甚至纷纷为她坐的黄包车让路。而作者是北美过去的士兵(或商人?反正这不重要),和这位女孩生出情愫,在分别的时候,还整出一个挺好玩的歌词,不是么?你看全文三段,大有“阳关三叠”的韵味。第一段:闺房初别。第二段:相伴行车。第三段:登船话别。真让人怀疑是不是偷师了北宋大词人周邦彦著名的送别词《兰凌王》。
( W7 o5 U# ~5 V. X: r另外用词上也不错。至少我学会了一些课本上学不到的常用表述。比如第二段Rose, Rose I love you with your almond eyes, Fragrant and slender \'neath tropical skies。形容一个人的确很传神。首先,“杏眼圆睁”的说法就是从中国流传过去的,芳香、苗条也是对一个女孩的合适评价。
